Scoring and Handicaps

Peoria Handicap

  • 80% of six holes (randomly selected), multiplied by 3

    • Three holes on the front (par 5, 4, 3)

    • Three holes on the back (par 5, 4, 3)

  • Example: You get the following scores on the handicap holes: 6 (on both par 5), 5 (on both par 4), and 4 (on both par 3)

    • Add up the total score: 30

    • Multiply by 3: 30x3 = 90

    • Subtract Par of Course: 90-72 = 18

    • Multiply by .8, then round up: 18x.8 = 14.4 = 15 Peoria Handicap

  • Day 1 scores will be calculated/finalized using Day 1 Peoria Handicap

  • Day 2 scores will be calculated using Day 1 + Day 2 Peoria Handicap Average

Local Rules

Gimme Putts

  • To improve pace of play, 1’ (3 putter heads) or less putts are considered gimme putts

Improved Lie

  • If your ball is in the fairway, you can improve your lie by moving the ball no more than 6” and no closer to the hole.

Gallery Ball

  • Group must agree that ball was lost in the fairway or normal rough

  • If everyone agrees, ball can be dropped at nearest location to where it was lost with no penalty stroke assessed

Lost Ball

  • All fescue, tall grass, and woods will be played as a lateral hazard (with penalty stroke assessed)

  • Between the Lost Ball and Gallery Ball rule, there should be NO lost ball penalties

Searching for Balls

  • Limit time to find balls to 2 minutes or less

  • Lost Ball and Gallery Ball rules reduce the penalty of a lost ball

Out of Bounds (O.B.)

  • USGA Rules in effect

    • O.B. is marked with white lines

    • Stroke and Distance (3 off the tee)

    • Drop where it went O.B. and take a two stroke penalty (hitting 4 from drop)

    • If you think you may have gone O.B. and want to take stroke and distance, play a provisional ball

    • Lost Ball and Gallery Ball rules are NOT in effect when O.B. is in play.

      • Example - Hole 3 at Pine Hills. If the ball is hit right (the driveway is O.B.) and the ball cannot be found, assume that it is O.B.
